Wenzhou Shoes And Clothing Boost Export Trade

According to the latest statistics of Wenzhou customs, the total import and export volume of our city reached 1 billion 802 million US dollars in July, an increase of 33.9% over the same period last year, which is 0.4 percentage points higher than the average increase in Zhejiang, of which 1 billion 598 million US $1 billion 598 million, an increase of 44.2% over the same period last year.

Benefiting from the improvement of the export situation of the pillar industries such as shoes and clothing, Wenzhou's foreign trade exports increased substantially in July, and exported 1 billion 598 million US dollars per month, an increase of 44.2% over the same period last year, 55.7 percentage points higher than the same period last year, and the export volume in the single month has reached a record high.

In July, the top five export commodities in Wenzhou were footwear, clothing, on-off protection circuit devices, glasses, valves and bags.

Among them, export shoes and boots were 491 million US dollars, up 46.5% over the same period last year, and export garments and accessories 210 million US dollars, an increase of 25.1% over the same period last year.

At the same time, the high price of raw materials in the international market has dampened the enthusiasm of our enterprises, and foreign trade imports declined for the two consecutive month. In July, foreign trade imports amounted to US $203 million, down 14.2% from the same period last year, 26.8 percentage points lower than the same period last year.

In particular, the international market prices of plastic particles and metal materials remained high, and imports of related products dropped significantly in July.

Imports of ferroalloy 19 million US dollars, down 59.7% compared to the same period last year; imports of plastic particles 16 million US dollars, down 59.4% compared with the same period last year; imports of non wrought nickel 11 million US dollars, down 49.1% over the same period last year.

It is reported that the total value of foreign trade of our city in July ranked fifth in the whole province, after Ningbo, Hangzhou, Shaoxing and Jiaxing.
