After the restriction of origin, Japan also announced that it would soon relax the production restrictions of knitted garments in Bangladesh in April 2011.


At present, knitted garments in Bangladesh must be sewn into ready-made garments made of self-made yarn made by Bangladesh to be exported to Japan, and the knitted garments made in Bangladesh can also be exported to Japan for relaxation of production restrictions.

To Japan, Japanese Importers can also enjoy zero tariff preferences.


According to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh exported 175% of its garments from 2008 to 2010.
