According to monthly data, the euro zone industrial new order index increased by 0.9% in February 2011 compared with January 2011, while in January index An increase of 1.2% over the previous month. Excluding those industries with large fluctuations in ships, railways and aviation industrial equipment, the euro area and the European Union's new industrial orders increased by 0.6% and 0.3% respectively. The three largest drop in the list were Romania (-4.7%), Lithuania (-2.7%) and Czech Republic (-2.1%).


From the annual data, in February 2011, the euro area and the European Union increased 21.3% and 19.8% of the new industrial orders over the same period last year, excluding ships, railways and aviation industry equipment, and the new orders for industry increased by 20.8% and 19.3% respectively. The new orders for capital goods in the euro area and the EU increased by 25.7% and 24.4% respectively; durable consumer goods orders increased by 7% and 1.8% respectively; orders for non durable consumer goods increased by 6.8% and 5.6% respectively; intermediate product orders increased 22.7% and 20.5% respectively. Among the member countries providing data, the top three largest annual increases in manufacturing orders were Estonia (+60.1%), Denmark (+57.9%) and Latvia (+56.1%), with the least growth being Britain (+7.1%), Spain (+10.0%) and Czech Republic (+ 12.5%).


Note: the total order of manufacturing industry is the same as that of new industrial orders.
