The Production Of Tajik Leather Shoes Is Growing Strongly, And Italian Shoes Look To The Government For Support

According to the Ministry of Energy Industry of Tajikistan, the output value of Tajik leather products from January to May was 9.4 million somoni, about 1.9 million US dollars, up 1.3 times year on year, leather shoes Production increased by 50%.

Nevertheless, the leather shoes produced by Tajikistan can only meet 5-10% of the market demand. More than 90% of the shoes market in Tajikistan is occupied by foreign enterprises, of which Chinese made shoes account for a large share.

According to Chinese customs statistics, from January to May Export shoes and boots , leg guards and similar products amounted to 108 million US dollars, up 191.8% year on year, accounting for 18.21% of the total exports to Tajikistan.

Cleto Sagripanti, president of ANCI, said that the output of domestic footwear manufacturing industry exceeded 205 million pairs in 2011 alone, with an estimated total output value of more than 7 billion euros. Facing such a high output industry, the country should further develop and utilize it.

Sagripanti criticized the government's proposal to transform the functions of the Italian Foreign Trade Association (ICE), which was intended to transform the Association into a department responsible for foreign affairs in June 2011. Sagripanti also said that due to the government's failure to fully clarify the proposal, especially the failure to disclose the total amount of expected investment, this has prevented enterprises from moving towards internationalization.

Italy Shoes manufacturing ANCI believes that it is necessary to establish a new "development alliance", which aims to coordinate different fields (public field, private field, associations and banks, etc.) and redefine the international development strategy. In addition, Sagripanti also called on the government to re implement the tax credit policy for the R&D field.
