On Friday, Brazil foreign trade minister Celso Amorim said the Brazil government will ask WTO to restart the case of US cotton subsidy.

WTO will begin to entertain the dispute within two months.

Amorim said that Brazil has proposed negotiations between Brasilia and Washington to resolve the problem. Meanwhile, Brazil may propose second trade disputes, namely sugar cane ethanol, and Brazil is the main exporter of sugarcane ethanol.

The United States taxes $0.54 on Brazil ethanol.

Brazil is the fifth largest cotton producer in the world. Last year, Brazil won the Cotton Subsidy dispute with the United States.
