Milan Fashion Anniversary, Designers Look For Opportunities Through Crisis

Young fashion designers in Italy opened the curtain of the Milan women's Wear Exhibition on Wednesday. They hope that the new design can win the favor of the industry in the economic downturn.

Four new rookies selected by National Chamber of Fashion show their works in autumn and winter fashion week in Italy. They say that the debut at such a time is not very good, but it does not mean that there is no room for new talent to play.

Alessia De Pasquale, 23, said: "it's hard to get out at this time... There's less demand in the current economic situation."

"But the fashion industry is always focusing on new ideas, new talents and new things."

De Pasquale is a London based designer who worked for several top fashion brands such as Burberry and Aquascutum. The fashion of her men's wear on this fashion week was inspired by the 1950s fashion, but it was also mixed with modern elements.

In the economic crisis, luxury brands were also hit hard and failed to survive. More and more evidence shows that even the super rich have begun to reduce clothing and accessories costs.
