Italy

According to the preliminary statistics at the end of 2008, the production of textile machinery industry in Italy dropped by 18% compared with last year, and its total output value was about 22850 billion euros.

Reduced production has affected sales and export sales in Italy's domestic market.

In 2007, it exported 21510 billion euros and reduced to 17820 billion euros in 2008.

The world's major markets, including China, India and Turkey, have no investment at present.

In 2008, Italy increased sales to a very small number of countries (such as Brazil and Russia).

The demand for new machinery in Italy's domestic market also decreased by 20% compared to the same period last year.

In terms of total orders, in the second half of 2008, the order index (2000 = 100) was only 28.4 points, which was 52% lower than that in the same period in 2007. In 2009, the situation faced by the machine building industry was even worse.

In fact, the situation will not improve in the first half of 2009.

Recent surveys show that most manufacturers' current difficulties are credit constraints.
