The fast fashion brand Biba, which rocking London in the 60s and 70s of last century, is now owned by House of Fraser, a British department store.

The Barbara Hulanicki, a fashion designer who founded Biba, finally met her brand after many years of neglect. She will launch a limited design for Biba next month with House of Fraser.

Barbara Hulanicki itself has quite a lot of sketching skills, and can quickly draw the new design that she saw after watching the show. She used to be a freelance journalist in Vogue, Women, s Wear Daily and other fashion magazines.

After many years of fashion show, Hulanicki began to try to design his own clothes.

In Britain in the 60s of last century, small newspapers all had mail order pages. She set up a mail order brand Biba with her husband, Stephen Fitz-Simon, that is, the predecessor of Biba shop.

In 1964, the first Biba clothing store officially opened on Abingdon street in London, while the shop sold only one size A signage dress, but it still made many women.

Scramble for

Biba was not only a clothing store, but also one of the fashion centers in London.

Many popular star models such as Twiggy and others have become regular customers in the store. Even Beatles will be sitting in the shop chatting. The current American editor in chief Anna Wintour has also been a salesgirl of Biba.

But the fashion industry always relentlessly replaced the old. With the advance of the times, a new batch of consumers began to pursue different trends. In 1975, Hulanicki left Biba, and the storefront was soon collected.

After that, designer Bella Freud briefly led Biba back to London Fashion Week in 2006, and then House of Fraser took over the brand in 2009.

Hulanicki says that he has never been invited back to his brand.

Instead, in 2009, Topshop, often regarded as "contemporary Biba", invited Hulanicki to jointly launch the "Biba for Topshop" series, which was widely praised and soon sold out.

Hulanick, "the mother of fast fashion", used nearly half a century ago to provide fashionable clothing for women at a low price.

Today, Biba's antique skirts can be auctioned at a high price. Now the Biba at House of Fraser series has been criticized by Hulanicki for selling too much.

But after a great circle, Hulanicki finally returned to Biba's embrace.

This time, not only did we design limited products, but also we were hired by House of Fraser as brand consultant.

A spokesperson for House of Fraser said they were very happy that Barbara Hulanicki could return again and believe that with the design and retail experience of Hulanicki for many years, the brand spirit of Biba can be renewed again to give new generation of young consumers.
