The total industrial output value of the industry is nearly 1700 billion yuan, accounting for 21% of the total industrial output value of the whole city.

In terms of intellectual property protection, according to the overall data from 2013 to 2015, 34129 patent applications for clothing design in the province were found, of which Wenzhou accounted for more than 1/3.

"Although the clothing industry in Wenzhou has a large body size, it is faced with problems such as poor platform support, imitation in the industry, and killing each other.

In addition, at present, the design period of apparel design is long, and it is not compatible with the characteristics of rapid upgrading of industry products. Therefore, it is difficult for enterprises to design innovative designs in a timely manner and become a barrier for industrial innovation driven development.

Xie Rongfang, executive chairman of Wenzhou shoe leather industry association, said.

The data show that Wenzhou has more than 2000 intellectual property disputes in the footwear industry and clothing industry every year.

"Therefore, accelerating the examination and approval of independent intellectual property rights, reducing the risks of intellectual property rights and increasing the protection of intellectual property rights in industry have become the consensus of industry and enterprises."
