During the summit forum, reporters exchanged views with Mr. Charles on relevant issues.

Reporter: in your opinion, is the world's Nylon industry chain healthy?

Charles: every link of the industrial chain will have different balance in different periods.

If the industry itself can pit in equilibrium, it will be healthy if it has self-regulation function.

Moreover, the rise and fall of product prices are fundamentally determined by the relationship between supply and demand.

For example, the global supply of caprolactam is tight this year, and the price is relatively high. In 2015, when China's caprolactam production capacity has been completely released, the supply will improve and the price will naturally return reasonably.

Reporter: some people believe that the global caprolactam is oversupplied, but you mentioned in your speech that the supply situation of caprolactam is tight.

There seems to be some contradiction between the two.

Charles: here is a problem. To ensure stable supply is not to supply equal to demand, but supply is slightly larger than demand.

Therefore, our views are in fact consistent.

The global oversupply of caprolactam has always existed, but this year's surplus is too narrow to maintain a stable supply situation.

From 2011 onward, the surplus level will gradually return to normal and reach a new balance around 2015.

Reporter: some representatives questioned China's expansion of caprolactam and considered that global capacity was enough.

How do you view this problem?

Charles: China already has the largest in the world.

Nylon industry

The world's capacity is further shifting to China.

In order to meet the needs of this huge industry, the construction of caprolactam industry is an inevitable road.

Of course, caprolactam in North America, Western Europe and other major exporting countries may not sell well after China's expansion of raw material supply.

Reporter: what are your suggestions for entrepreneurs in China's Nylon industry?

Charles: in the next 2~3 years, the new capacity of caprolactam and nylon in China will be completely released. If the company does not expand its capacity, then the healthy balance can be maintained for a long time.

But in fact, no one can control the market behavior of investment.

In the traditional field of small profits, enterprises can make a difference in the field of engineering plastics.

If the demand for nylon materials for auto parts increases year by year, enterprises can cooperate with downstream factories such as modified factories and parts factories to jointly develop suitable products.

Charles Fryer introduction:

The chairman of the British Thailand Global Chemical Company Limited is responsible for overseeing the company's development of new market businesses.

It is also responsible for the preparation of "polyamide and its intermediates monthly analysis" and "global overview of polyamide intermediates".

He holds a degree in chemistry from University of Oxford and University of Florence in Italy, and has been a research scholar in nuclear resonance spectroscopy at University of Warwick.

Charles has been working in Thailand, England since 1971. It was initially responsible for the Western European chemical market research. It developed "PX- DMT/PTA polyester" advisory services, and then extended to the consulting service of fiber and fiber intermediates. It engaged in multi client and single client consulting activities for various chemical products, including chlor alkali, caprolactam, adipic acid, polyester and polyamide resin and fiber, ethylene oxide and their derivatives.
